Restoring Our Community

1,288 stumps remain in Joe Moody Harris Park as a reminder of the devastation of Hurricane Michael.

restoring our community

This project is about more than just planting trees. It’s about building community by working shoulder to shoulder to create tangible change with someone who might live down the street or across the neighborhood. A great place to start is in our parks. Every single park in Panama City was impacted by the storm. With 80% of the tree canopy lost, parks are now mere open spaces littered with stumps.

Oaks that once shaded McKenzie Park and filled with squirrels and birds are stripped bare.

In addition to shade, healthy trees make for healthy ecosystems. They filter out excess nutrients and pollutants, mitigate stormwater, provide food, shade and shelter for an abundance of living creatures. Planting 100,000 trees over the next five years is only scratching the surface of what we lost (estimated 1M trees), we are investing in future generations.

PARTNER WITH US

We are seeking donations to plant 100,000 trees by 2025. Whether Corporate, Philanthropic, or individual donations, they will help restore hope and healing to this community. We are currently partnering with OneTreePlanted.org and The Project Canopy to bring awareness to our cause. There is a collaboration happening...be a part of it.
